Object Story

The participant's older brother, Roderick Red Elk, wrote victory letters to his family towards the end of WWII in 1945. Roderick had been one of the seventeen Comanche Code Talkers recruited by the U.S. Army. Due to the nature of his mission, he was unable to share information regarding his training but could share personal stories in a limited capacity.
