Object Story

7 years after the participant's father, a second lieutenant in the Air Force, the plane was shot down over Croatia during WWII and was declared MIA, his family received a letter from the War Department. In April 1949, the participant's family received information regarding the participant's late father, confirming they had found his remains in Croatia. The loss of his father would end up traumatizing his family.
