Cruise Book made of paper, in good condition. Made in 1958, most likely printed in Tokyo or Yokosuka, Japan, and issued to the participant on return from the cruise. Participant ID_00009, Object ID_00023.

Object Story

The personnel director of the ship would collect the photos and inspiration and make the books to sell/give to the unit. Very strong emotional connection. Connection to memory of service; the people, places, and things. The patrol of the carrier that the book is about was responsible for carrying air-delivery nuclear deterrence during the Cold War. They patrolled the coasts of Japan, China, and Russia, carrying a-40 Douglas Skyhawks armed with Mark VI and Mark XII nuclear weapons.
