Abstract
The in-orbit spectral calibration of the CrIS sensor on NPP will be reviewed with an emphasis on the relationship between thermal vacuum testing and in-orbit spectral calibration. Validation of the spectral and radiometric in-orbit performance of CrIS will be discussed in detail, using a variety of techniques to determine CrIS performance relative to both internal variables (detector, scan angle, etc.) and relative to existing hyperspectral sounders (AIRS and IASI). Estimates of absolute radiometric performance will also be presented.
