Abstract

This practical workshop will focus on integrating spheres and other methods and maintaining NIST traceability through the calibration process. The workshop starts with a lecture on a basic framework to maintain integrity of radiometric and spectral signals and fundamentals of instrument characterization which is based the new IEEE 4001 standard. Hands-on sessions provide an opportunity to learn about characterizing and efficiently providing calibration measurements for successful campaign results.

The workshop will be organized into three sections:

1. Measuring Absolute Radiance Radiometry & Characterization of Imagers

2. Measuring Payload Spectral Response Application of Sensor Characterization

3. Characterizing and Using Integrating Spheres

Attend to discover measurement and test methods and how to test sensors and imaging systems and how integrating spheres can be used as an effective tool to make multiple measurements.
