Abstract
This paper describes an expert system that was developed for the Air Force Engineering and Services Center at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. This expert program was developed as a preprocessor for an optimization program that determines the most optimal pumping strategy for short term containment of a contaminant plume given a specific well configuration.
