Abstract
Introduction Special events are a proven way to draw tourists’ attention to the attractions that a community has to offer, while at the same time providing an enjoyable experience for local residents. Events as diverse as the Cedar City’s Utah Shakespearean Festival, Vernal’s Dinosaur Days, and the Sundance Film Festival are important contributors to local economies as they draw visitors from around the state and region. Many of those visitors return year after year, spreading the word among family, friends and neighbors about the enjoyable time they’ve had.
