Abstract

This study seeks to analyze export performance of India, Brazil, Philippines, and Pakistan during 1950-70. Table 1 shows annual average growth rates of exports of these countries and other regions. Although an understanding of the structural features of export trade is obviously necessary, the primary focus of the analysis is on studying the effectiveness and rel evance of the public policy measures pertaining to foreign trade.
