Abstract
The pale western cutworm Agrotis orthogonia Morr. Is a native insect of the arid-lands of western United States and Canada. Devastation of dry-land grains has marked the insect as the most destructive cutworm in the west. Because of the underground feeding habits of this insect the usual methods of control, so effective with the army cutworm and other cutworm species, have all failed.
