Start Date

Description
The soft skills companies say they need most in their employees in 2020, as compiled by LinkedIn, are creativity, collaboration, persuasion, and emotional intelligence. All of these skills demonstrate how we work with others and bring new ideas to the table. How can we better teach these types of skills to our students, particularly in an online course? In this workshop we will discuss how to use groups to drive online learning and give students the opportunity to learn, practice, and grow these sought after soft skills. Accelerated learning gains, engagement, and motivation are some of the additional by-products of student group work, which can be created and organized by Canvas. Tips and tricks, as well as lessons learned, will be shared to give you the confidence you need to try using groups in your online learning environments.
