Description
This presentation will focus on the use of asset-oriented language in syllabus writing, teacher talk, and communication with students in order to empower students to: a) take ownership in their learning; b) practice professional behavior with peers; and c) communicate effectively with their professor. Being mindful and intentional of language use with students and in assignments can help students to make meaningful and relevant connections between course content and the world outside the classroom.
