Deadlines, Tests, And Sundry Assignments: Rethinking Conventional Frameworks in the Post-Covid Era
Start Date

Description
In this presentation, I discuss my experience over the past two years experimenting with alternatives to traditional grading based on deadlines and time limits. For a variety of reasons, including COVID, I moved to open-book/open note tests with no time limit; options to re-do assignments, and open, flexible deadlines for assignments and participate in discussions. In this session, I discuss the results I have gathered from student feedback, as well as my own struggle with whether or not such a move is a lowering of standards or a radical increase in accessibility.
