Abstract
A survey of 141 daycare and preschool directors showed that their most pressing administrative concerns involved evaluating personal effectiveness, developing a center's philosophy, evaluating the effectiveness of the center for the child, and establishing effective parent–center communication. Ss who had fewer years of education, did not possess a degree related to early childhood education, and who did not own the facility generally expressed more concerns. Results indicate the need for appropriate educational training of childcare administrators. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
