Abstract
With the growth in arts education at Utah State University, facilitated and accelerated by the creation of the Caine College of the Arts and driven by Dean Craig Jessop’s leadership, it is necessary to restructure our existing Master of Music program, identifying specializations within the degree. Our current Master of Music degree is linked to a specialization in Piano Performance & Pedagogy even though we offer numerous additional graduate courses that prepare students for alternate outcomes within the M.M. degree. In order to increase the scope and utilizations of that degree, we are defining two additional specializations: Performance and Conducting. We are also clarifying that the existing Piano Performance & Pedagogy remains as a M.M. Degree program specialization.
