Abstract
Recently the Physics Department completed a review of its graduate programs. Currently, Physics M.S. students can elect to complete either the Plan A (30 credits, including 6-15 credits of research), Plan B (30 credits, including 3 credits associated with a required report), or Plan C (33 credits, all course work).
In the review of the Physics graduate program it was found that the Plan C option is not substantially different from the Plan B option. Furthermore, the Plan C option does not comprise any research component, which is a highly desirable aspect of any postgraduate academic degree. Therefore, the department requests elimination of the Plan C (course work only) option from the Physics degree program.
