Abstract
The mountains of south-central Idaho expose a cross section of the Cordilleran orogenic system including a Mesozoic fold-thrust belt on the east and Cretaceous and Tertiary intrusive complexes on the west. The orogenic belt is overprinted by Basin and Range extensional faulting and bimodal volcanism of the Snake River Plain.
