Abstract
Cookbooks have been around for centuries, informing on how to prepare everything from potatoes to giving household advice. The cookbooks of post-war America reflected national identities by promoting consumerism, a focus on the family, emergency preparedness and religious involvement. From fish made of gelatin to fallout food, our cookbooks say it all.
