Abstract
A key issue in HRD is to identify and determine factors that influence the performance of employees and organizations. Two possible factors are the initiation of teleworking and the reduction of work-family conflict. The purpose of this survey questionnaire study was to investigate the differences in work-family conflict between full-time worksite employees and full-time teleworking employees (individuals who worked from home at least two days per week). Two hundred and twenty-one usable surveys were returned from full-time teleworkers and non-teleworkers in seven corporate organizations. The findings indicate that teleworkers had lower levels of various dimensions of work-family conflict. Relationships were also found between work-family conflict and gender, health, number of hours worked, and number of children.
