Abstract

Case study research brings valuable insight into the field of folklore, yet the method carries with it complexities that have not been adequately discussed in folklore literature. This presentation will synthesize existing literature with issues found in my own case study research to explore new possibilities for fieldwork approaches. Recognizing and discussing the complexities of case study research can allow fieldworkers to prepare for and more competently navigate the research process.
