Abstract
High school students Utah and nearby states go to a Utah State traditional event called Diversity Day. Students learn more about college, about Utah State, and have the opportunity to interview for a scholarships. 166 students were surveyed to better understand their academic self-efficacy and their actual preparedness to attend college. Students were also asked about what is most important to them when selecting a college, as well as what they feel most prepared or lacked in preparation in their college preparation. Results of the predominantly ethnic minority students were compared to students who identify as white.
