Abstract

Urbanscape/Landscape is inspired by construction and sustainability. Is a cityscape still a cityscape if it lacks the geometrical structure of rigid buildings? How clearly does a landscape, full of organic pieces, need to be organized? And finally, is our current treatment of cityscapes and landscapes affecting the sustainability of both? I wanted create work based on these ideas, so I took the city of London and the land of Alaska—experimenting simultaneously with themes of construction, deterioration, and impact.
