Abstract
Built on limited releases and its secondary resale market, streetwear and sneaker business moves millions of dollars of product annually. Anti is a research project critiquing hype consumerism in this niche market. Presented in the form of a popup shop, Anti explores the difference between retail and resale prices of three of last year's biggest streetwear and sneaker collaborations. Using poster/merch design as a canvas and the visual language and iconography of some of the market's biggest brands, this project attempts to raise the questions about why these products increase in value so drastically between retail and resale prices.
