Abstract

The purpose of this research was to design patterns and textiles that fit within a specific cultural context. The focus was on what interior patterns and designs would fit in a 1950s Joseph Eichler home. He was a prevalent architect that made headway in midcentury design in Palo Alto, California. Shapes, colors, and pattern repeats were all examined and researched to design four new patterns with multiple colorways that would be used in Eichler interiors.
