Abstract
I analyzed consumer complaints from the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) related to student loans. Breaking the complaints down by category (applying for loans, dealing with customer support, etc.) I was able to find how being a federal student loan or public student loan influenced how customers were treated, and dealt with their loans. I also calculated what effect being a public company vs. a private company had on various complaint types.
