Abstract
A large stream of research has been published that focuses on corporate social responsibilities (CSR) of businesses. Another stream of research exists that focuses on the concept of 'market orientation' in businesses and the performance benefits of strengthening the level of market orientation. What is missing is cross-discipline research that examines if more market-oriented businesses engage more (or less) in CSR activities versus companies that are less market oriented. In this research project we use data from key informants at publicly traded companies to measure the level of market orientation. We then pair that with data from KLD database on CSR ratings to be able to examine the correlations between market orientation and CSR engagement across companies and industries. We present findings and implications for business practice and society. Presentation Time: Wednesday, 3-4 p.m. Zoom link: https://usu-edu.zoom.us/j/82620839263?pwd=ei9iSlJHSkpGam96anBDeXozeGZidz09
