Abstract
The aim of this project is to research whether an informatic video and/or a written infographic will increase knowledge of autism spectrum disorder. The research question is: how effective is an informatic video intervention in increasing knowledge about ASD? The design of this project is a pre-test-post-test design. Participants will complete an ASD knowledge test and then receive either the video intervention, reading intervention, or no intervention (control), and then complete the ASD knowledge test after the condition has been administered. The ASD knowledge test will be randomized to prevent memorization. Participants who have a child with ASD will be excluded from participation. This research project will be able to evaluate how effective different types of ASD awareness interventions are. The results of this research can be used to increase awareness and knowledge of ASD among the general population.Presentation Time: Thursday, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
