Abstract
In my research, I wanted to look into the history, culture, and stereotypes surrounding women's hockey and push the boundaries of this information by exploring a new aesthetic and design for the sport. I considered personal experiences female players have had with misogyny in a male dominated sport, bias' in designs for uniforms/locker rooms/equipment/fan apparel/etc, and historical moments like the 'pay deal' agreement'. All of these different things played a part in the designs of my deliverables in one way or another. This new research based aesthetic approach better represents women's hockey history and its growing, hopeful future.
