Abstract
Structured Query Language (SQL) is a standardized programming language used to manage relational databases and perform various operations on the data in them. This course was highly technical for the undergraduate students, to make the learning more effective, the teacher must assess the intrinsic cognitive load on the learner and adjust the extraneous cognitive load when creating video materials. This study applied cognitive load theory (CLT) to remove split attention and redundancy effects; offer suitable worked examples and segmentation to decrease the cognitive load demand of learners. This study tries to address the relationship between cognitive load level and metacognition, and clarify how they affect video learning performance.
