Abstract

Lava flow samples from the Peruvian Altiplano plateau described petrologically, mineralogically, and geochemically for investigation of of genetic relation, compositional variability, and melt source characteristics. Reflective of a metasomatically altered mantle resulting from subduction of the Nazca plate under the western margin of South America.
