Abstract

Honeywell is nearing completion of the development program for the antenna positioning rotary actuators to be used on the Iridium® Space Vehicle. The program's goal has been to develop and qualify, within a relatively short period of time, a set of low cost, high performance and highly reliable rotary actuators which can be produced efficiently in large quantities. These actuators will be utilized to point communication antennas but could also be used to point cameras or tum and position solar arrays.
