Launch Services 101, Managing a 101 CubeSat Launch Manifest on PSLV-C37
Session
Session 10: Leo Missons
Abstract
In February 2017 the PSLV-C37 set a ground breaking record, the first time ever that a launch vehicle carried more than 100 satellites into orbit. Innovative Space Logistics (ISL), a subsidiary of small satellite company ISIS - Innovative Solutions In Space from the Netherlands was responsible for the launch campaign and integration of 101 of the 104 satellites on this launch. The process of manifesting so many satellites from various countries on a single launch, and successfully integrating them on the launch vehicle and deploying them into orbit will be covered. The paper will address the process leading up to the campaign, detail on launch site activities, launch and post-launch results and will provide an insight in both technical and non-technical aspects of this CubeSat launch campaign. Pointers for CubeSat teams working towards a launch date will be given and lesson's learned from this campaign will be shared.
