Abstract
This poster highlights a technique Astroscale U.S. is investigating to assess a fiducial design prior to it taking physical form. Rendezvous fiducials have been implemented and used for decades to provide tracking and pose estimation, but only for select missions. With satellite servicing for life extension and deorbiting defunct satellites viable options for satellite operators, several companies have begun adding tracking fiducials and docking plates to satellites. This growing market makes optimizing fiducial design a higher priority recently.
