Session
Weekend Session II: Coordinating Successful Educational Programs
Location
Utah State University, Logan, UT
Abstract
As the commercial and national security economics behind the development of space-based services heats up, revenue forecasts are exploding. "NewSpace" companies as well as traditional aerospace focused corporations are developing and deploying unprecedented numbers of new space-based systems, providing communications, remote sensing, navigation, and national security benefits to a global marketplace. The demand signal for trained and qualified space professionals has never been greater. Within the space professional ecosystem, universities have traditionally focused either on the space systems design aspect, the theoretical aspects of mission design, or the payload design and analysis. However, other aspects of the space economy are significantly underserved, including space operations (SpaOps).
