Description

The observatory research team spends time operating a telescope to gather data on countless astronomical targets, such as asteroids, binary star systems, and cepheid variables to name a few. Our team is made up of WSU undergraduate students pursuing studies in astrophysics, material science, and nuclear physics, and computer engineering. Our work as a team strengthens us as students and physicists by giving us opportunities to do our own research, experience in work that will prepare us for our fields, and a learning environment outside of a traditional classroom. We as a team work together closely alongside our advisor Dr. Stacy Palento reach student goals. We take observations for each other, ask and answer research questions, and ensure each student has the tools they need to understand and successfully complete their individual work.
