Abstract
Fertilization in sunflower fields seems to be dependent on the density of honeybees visiting the crop. However, density of honey bees is influenced by the effect of competitor flora and also by other factors to a much greater degree than by the number of colonies moved to the field. Accordingly, establishing the necessity of moving colonies to or increasing the number of colonies on sunflower fields for sufficient pollination is advisable to be based on in vestigacions concerning the actual density of honeybees on the crop in bloom.
