Abstract
Nurowski introduced a conformal class of metrics associated to any generic rank 2 distribution in 5 dimensions. From this conformal class one can use the Fefferman-Graham construction to define a pseudo-Riemannian metric in 7 dimensions. All such metrics are known to have special holonomy, that is, the holonomy is a subgroup of the split form of the exceptional group G[2] .
