Ways to Get Students to Come Back to Class
Start Date

Description
The massive shift to online teaching in 2020 in response to COVID-19 impacted all of us. For many instructors and students, the transition back to in-person classes or other face-to-face formats has been challenging and slow. While many have hypothesized that information delivery in higher education will never return to "normal" or exist in the way that it did pre-COVID, the process of embracing that reality and finding a "new normal" will likely be messy. Many students who register for a synchronous face-to-face course are now skipping class and expecting recorded lectures or online accommodations instead. This session will focus on ways to add value to in-person classroom experiences (without compromising accessibility) and encourage students to come to class and participate in ways that will enhance learning.
