On the Ignorant and Not so Ignorant Application of Ungrading Principles to Large, Highly Technical Courses

Description
In searching for a means of grading daily homework assignments to a class of over 150 students, I stumbled upon a method of both providing rapid feedback to students while drastically reducing my daily grading requirements. I had heard of "ungrading" but only in the context of small, writing intensive courses and didn't see how it could be useful in my engineering classroom. I finally attended an ETE Sparkshop on ungrading and saw how to apply some principles to grading lab reports, but also realized I had already been applying the underlying principles in my other courses as well.
