Teaching conferences are full of ideas to help you be an amazing teacher, to help your students learn, and to help you improve your teaching portfolio. Is it all overwhelming? Is it all necessary? Will it help you teach better? Will it help your students? As teachers, we will never all teach the same way. We will never all reach the same students in the same way. Every teaching technique won't work the same for all. Because of this, self-reflection is key for us to individually become the best teacher version of ourselves. Taking time to reflect on what our students need and how we can best serve them will improve teaching. Self-reflection during our workweek can also improve our abilities and decrease our stress. This talk will explore the benefits of reflection and discuss how you can impact students more effectively by dedicating time to reflection.
