End Date

Description
This panel discussion will highlight how the USU Honors Program scaffolds experiential learning and creates enrichment opportunities for both students and faculty. Rather than focusing on GPA or test scores, the program's flexible, points-based curriculum rewards curiosity, creates safe spaces for risk-taking, helps students develop reflective skill, and fosters a growth mindset.
Panelists will offer an overview of Honors opportunities and share their experiences teaching and mentoring students in interdisciplinary courses; book discussion groups; short-term research; creative, or professional-development projects; and Honors Capstone Projects. These experiences help students make and track progress on four Honors Learning Outcomes; 1) Research and Discovery; 2) Critical Thinking and Self-reflection; 3) Clear and Effective Communication; and 4) Collaboration and Community Engagement. The University Honors Program is designed to take both students and faculty well beyond the grade.
