Abstract
Perry City was settled in 1851 when Orrin Porter Rockwell (Figure 1), a Mormon pioneer, and his brother, Merrill laid claim to land about 2 1/2 miles southwest of the center of Box Elder, which is now known as Brigham City, Utah. It was adjacent to a large spring known as Porter's Spring.
