Abstract
The National Latinx Psychological Association was established in 2002. In the years since, the association has grown and developed into a thriving community of professionals and professionals in training. A decade later, members of NLPA started to take actions that eventually led to the development of the Ethical Guidelines of the NLPA. We outline the systematic process undertaken to discuss and develop the guidelines that included multiple methods of engaging NLPA members to understand ethical challenges in practice, teaching, research, and other professional roles. As a result of the information gathered and a critical examination of ethics in psychology, the team opted to draft a unique document that articulated ethical responsibilities within a Latinx world view and that could be used by itself or in conjunction with existing and complimentary ethical guidelines. The ethical guidelines were adopted January 1, 2018.
