Abstract

Over the summer, with assistance from the money granted to me by URCO, I was able to spend four weeks at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts studying Shakespeare and the art of acting. Over these four weeks, my confidence in technique, self assessment, and overall skills improved abundantly. I was able to fully examine and research all of the techniques I had previously been taught in my time here at Utah State in comparison with not only LAMDA’s technique, but also the technique of my classmates from around the world. My time there was spent gaining an understanding that the current education I am getting is bountiful and also lines up with what I want to succeed in in the future. The four weeks spent there were rich with knowledge, and truly synthesized my current education with practices and techniques unknown to me. I was successful in gathering enough data and information about the practices to share with my classmates upon return, and am now confident in my own practices thanks to brilliant tutors and classes.
