Description

The goal of the Artemis program is to establish a long-term human presence on the Moon. In support of this objective, the NASA Lunabotics Competition challenges teams to design and build robots capable of traversing and performing earthmoving operations in simulated lunar terrain. These robots collect data relevant to future lunar construction efforts. The primary objective of the competition is to develop a robot capable of constructing a berm using regolith simulant. A diagram of the competition layout is shown in Figure 1.
