Point of Discovery/Informant Bio
My name is Steven Shumway I’m 21, a student at Utah State University and I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about 5 or 6 years. I think it is the most fun you can have with your brain. Because of this I have been immersed in the culture of the game both in game stores and online since I discovered it and fell in love with it.
Context
A wight is a type of undead monster in Dungeons and Dragons.
Text
An undead walks into an inn and immediately finds the nearest lonely patron, sits next to him and starts talking and yammering his ear off. He complains about how there are secret groups of paladins and clerics constantly plotting the eradication of his culture and how dwarves have been immigrating into his homeland and causing the downfall of underworld society. The innkeep sees the other man is annoyed and goes over there and asks the undead to leave. The undead says “Why, I’m not doing anything wrong!” and the barkeeper says “We don’t serve wight supremacists.”
Texture
At the punchline usually there is a lot of emphasis put on the word wight. The joke is sort of told as an anti joke, since after all the buildup the punchline is just a pun.
