Abstract
The genera Neotiphia Malloch and Krombeinia Pate are noteworthy among the genera of Tiphiinae in being poor in the number of individuals that have been collected, but rich in intra-specific morphological diversification. Fourteen species were recognized in Allen's (1935) earlier revision. Three additional species were described by Krombein (1938) and Pate (1939). Three other species belonging to Neotiphia and Krombeinia were recognized recently (Allen, 1962) among the Tiphiinae described by Smith and Cameron many years ago. For the past 25 years the authors, working independently, have been amassing individuals of these rare genera. Last year we agreed that enough material had accumulated to permit a critical revision, and decided to pool our specimens and notes to prepare the revision which is presented herewith.
