In this session, I will discuss a semester-long project from my English 4540: Teaching Creative Writing course from Spring 2019. As a class, we wrote a textbook dedicated to the teaching of creative writing. Each student was assigned an individual chapter and, through in-class workshops and Canvas discussions, the class collaborated on this singular focus. In this discussion, I will talk about my goals for the project, the process of getting students to buy in to the concept, and the final textbook product. (I am also attempting to get some of the students in the class to attend this discussion to make it more of a panel, but that will depend on logistics that will be worked out).
