Research in the Real World: Students and Agencies Working Together
Start Date
8-18-2020 12:00 AM
Description
Many social work students dread taking Research Methods, as their focus is on the hands on, real life work with individuals, families, and communities. They see Research Methods as an intimidating and boring class far removed from their purpose in studying social work: to do meaningful work with real people. How else to engage them than to bring the class to where they are? This session will discuss efforts to increase the relevance of Research Methods for social work students throughout Utah through student developed and implemented research projects with local community agencies, and student experiences with the process.
