Mentoring may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about teaching, but it can be the most important aspect of many students' experience in higher education. Mentoring is an art form that is interwoven in many high impact teaching practices. This session will cover evidence-based best practices in mentoring students that USU Connections faculty are effectively engaging in and how these practices are making a difference for first-year students. Presenters will share the most impactful mentoring tips and strategies that make a meaningful difference for students and how other teachers can easily adapt these practices for their own classroom and students.
