Description

The quality of online courses depends on the seamless integration of a textbook within the course's design. This presentation discusses tips and tricks in writing and adapting an open educational resource (OER) using WikiBooks and how to integrate a self-authored or customized open textbook for your class. This process allows greater student accessibility and inclusiveness with a "complete package" to enrolled students, reducing expenses related to acquiring costly e-textbooks and software, while also giving the instructor freedom to develop a highly professional, but customizable experience for their students. The presentation will also cover how to update material, as well as collaborate with other instructors teaching the same class.
